records-lower3Who We Are

We’re music dorks, total heads, obsessives who have been in love with music our whole lives. We’ve played in bands big and small - mostly small - and traveled the world playing it and in search of it. Come over to our place and you’ll find Fela Kuti vinyl, the new Black Joe Lewis, a Jubilee test press, an old 60’s Kay, Fugazi flyers and a ukulele that gets played so often it makes George Harrison smile from beyond the grave. We do this because we love music and know first hand just how insanely tough it is to make money doing what you love. We don’t claim Artistfunding as an original idea - we first heard of Mieka Pauley doing it a couple of years ago and since then Josh Freese has taken it to a whole other level. If you’re an artist, you may be wondering why you’d contract us to fulfill your Artistfunding goals when you can just do it yourself and the answer is simply - if you think you can pull it all off by yourself then by all means, get out there and do it. We want to live in a world where artists are relying less and less on third parties who control the purse strings. Why? Less compromise. Better art. We’re simply Artistfunding agents. We offer this as a service to artists. Think of it this way - just because an artist can ring up a club and book a show doesn’t mean that they want to do all of their own booking. It’s a pain in the ass. They’re too busy writing songs and playing shows and well… being artists. That’s why they have booking agents. We here at The Hector Fund are Artistfunding agents.

jakeJake Brennan

President/Founder, Is To Hector What Don Rich Was To Buck Owens

Needs new strings for his uke but is afraid he doesn’t know how to change them. Plays in two awesome bands but not enough. Is Sleep’s number one enemy these days and doesn’t have enough time to finish the books he starts. Resume available at LinkedIn.

evanEvan Kenney

Director, Rock-N-Roll Poet

Evan has two songs stuck in his head, “Kids Of The Black Hole” by the Adolescents and “I Can’t Get Arrested” by Gene Redding. He fronts an electronic party band and is looking for a machine that can change him into some sort of Otis Redding/Blonde on Blonde-era Dylan hybrid. Resume available at LinkedIn.

ginsDavid Ginsburg

Vice President Marketing

From promo kid to Program Director, Gins lived and breathed radio. When the Internet killed the radio star, our hero turned his experience and smarts toward the world of marketing with folks like Blitz Media and the American Repertory Theater.

hectorHector

Spiritual Adviser, Minister Of Propaganda

Hector was the older guy in High School who could always hook you up. It didn’t mater what you needed, he “had a guy”. Hector talked the twelve year old you out of buying, “Back In Black” and into buying, “Let There Be Rock”. There were rumors about Hector; that he he was Flaco, that he was here, that he brought breakdancing from the Bronx to the Burbs, that he made out with Madonna, that he was Prince’s cousin. He would disappear for stretches but would always return with music you’d yet to hear. Serge Gainsbourg, Circle Jerks, Suicide, Tinariwen. When it came to music, Hector was your guy. Hector hooked you up. Hector is here. He is everywhere actually and whether you’re an artist or a fan, Hector is gonna hook you up.

scottScott Feldman

Vice President Business Development/Operations

Scott played keys for Henry Kissinger. Undaunted, he went on to work morning drive radio where he escorted Linda Lovelace. Unscarred, he helped launch sites including Rock.com, nimbit.com, and countless others. Unsurprisingly, he is a music marketing and sales expert who prefers not to think of himself as a salesperson.
