Between 70% to 90% of your contribution will go directly to the artists depending on the Hector Fund’s level of involvement with their campaign and the costs associated with fulfilling the creation and delivery of tangible goods to the fans.
Who is responsible if the artist doesn’t deliver on their promise?
The Artist. Your purchase is a good-faith pact between you and the artist. The artist understands this and also understands that by failing to deliver on what they promise they risk doing serious damage to their reputation and career. In the event that an artist does not deliver, the staff at the Hector Fund will work with you to see that you receive exactly what you’ve paid for.
In the event that you receive a damaged product (a CD that does not play or bad mp3 files), The Hector Fund will replace the product. If for some reason you do not receive one of the non-tangible offerings as part of your purchase, The Hector Fund will make every effort to assist you in making sure the artist follows through with their commitment to you, the fan.
How does The Hector Fund make money?
We are Artistfunding agents. This means we craft Artistfunding campaigns for each artist and target them to the wants of their individual fans. We also provide digital marketing and promotional services for each campaign and administer the fulfillment of tangible goods to the fans. Each artists is different as is each campaign and each goal. We negotiate a fee with each artist based on our level of involvement in their campaign.
How are artists chosen?
Carefully. Artists are selected based on their experience, talent, online presence and level of sophistication. We rely on our own knowledge and relationships and occasionally use field agents in cities around the world to help us make our artist selections.
