We are Boston’s Bodega Girls and we believe in the party. We believe in music as a means of escape. Making awesome music and having an endless party in our minds doesn’t leave a lot of time to flirt with the appropriate powers that be to secure a record contract. We’re too busy writing the songs that make the whole dance floor swing. And that’s fine. We prefer it this way and have made some awesome fans and friends along the way.
However, the time has come to finish recording our “full-length album”. Notice that we didn’t say, “CD”. We’re talking “album”. To us an album is a collection of singles. Each crafted well enough for you, the listener to make like Lionel Ritchie and keep the party going all night long. We’re going to release our album at first as a collection of Digital 45s within the iTunes store. The first single, “Primetime Sexcrime b/w Blackout” will be released February 2nd, 2010. Each Digital 45 will be comprised of two songs and contain original artwork. A corresponding Bodega Girls iPhone Application will be created and released to help promote this collection of singles. Bodega Girls aren’t releasing an album, a CD, a piece of Vinyl or even a Cassette but a collection of Digital 45s and a corresponding iPhone Application to help promote the singles in bundle format. Welcome to right now. Five Digital 45s will be released, all with original art while the iPhone App will feature video, photos, touring info, real-time blogging, access to exclusive shows, merch and a whole host of other dynamic features capable of bringing the Bodega Girls directly to the fan and vice versa.
This all costs money - not just the recording of the Digital 45s but the development of the iPhone Application and the spreading of the word. However, we’re hustlers, Baby, so we can get it done on the cheap for about 4K, which is what we’re asking you, our amazing fans to help us with. This ain’t charity. The Bodega Girls will accompany you to the street-corner, front-yard or window of your loved one and assist you in the coolest PDA ever. You can wear your John Cusack trench coat and hold the boombox over your head and we’ll accompany you by singing either an original, a cover, a bastardized version of “In Your Eyes” - whatever you want and we’ll rock the beat, vocals, acoustic guitars and ukelele. If this doesn’t get you laid then he or she just isn’t that into you.
$400 Burt Bacharach Best Date Ever Level
Got a girl of guy your crushing on and can’t think of the right date idea? Trying to avoid those awkward dating faux pas’? No sweat. We, the Bodega Girls will be all awkward for you. Here’s the deal on this one. You set up the date - maybe it’s at your crib - you, your lady or your man and the Bodega Girls. We’ll come over and cook for you AND provide the entertainment. Pre-dinner, MAC will DJ an appropriate mix to set the mood. Jacob Honey Boy Otis will cook you up a full meal of your choosing - appetizers, a pre-chorus course, the dinner and the desert while King EvRock and Carmen serve you drink after drink after drink. We’ll dress all formal and serve you the meal as well. During dinner your lady or your man gets a song that you request serenaded to her or him ala the Bodegas and their ukulele. $500 Ain’t Nothing But A House Party Level
For five Ben Franklins we’ll come to your house, basement, garage, backyard, whatever - and put on a show that will leave your friends and neighbors talking for years to come. The typical set-up for a Bodega Girls show is we show up and DJ for an hour or so, then play a 45-60 minute live set, then DJ for a couple more hours. It’s an all in, all night thing - but you’re paying for it so we’re open to whatever.
$500 Beach Blanket Bingo Party Level
Same as the above - the only difference is we play your beach party - not your house party. Why even list this out? Well, we just think it would be cool to play a beach party and we’re trying to plant a seed here.
$1000 Baby Making Music Level
We’ll play your house party or whatever AND write and record a personal song for you. It can be about whatever you want. It can be about you, your cat, your crappy boss, your ex-girl or boyfriend - it can be written FOR someone of your choice as well. Think of the romantic gift possibilities.
$1500 Remix Level
You get the House Party, the Personalized Song AND we’ll remix a song from your band. The Bodega Girls are the unknown and undisputed remix kings with new remixes of Wild Light, Passion Pit, and Sean Bones.
$2000 Guest List For Life Level
If you’re the first to bid $2000 you get all of the above AND guest listed for life AND an Executive Producer credit in the liner notes of our first full-length release. We’re serious - you plus one - will be on the guest list for EVERY show we play from now until we get hooked on smack and go down in a fiery ball of rock-n-roll clichés.
